How to Take Turmeric
You can always incorporate turmeric into your diet by using the spice in delicious recipes like Turmeric Tea or Easy, Blended Pea Soup Recipe. If you’re looking for more therapeutic effects, you can consider a turmeric supplement that is available in various forms, including tablet, capsule, powder or tincture.

You’ll often see a turmeric and black pepper (piperine) dosage in combination in these products since black pepper increases the absorption of turmeric in the body. Seeing black pepper included in your turmeric supplement is definitely something you want to see.

Turmeric smoothie with a flavor-enhancer

The only problem with adding turmeric powder to smoothies is the sharp flavor of turmeric, especially if you are adding more than a few pinches. Some people don’t mind the flavor, but if it is keeping you from making turmeric smoothies, the best solution is to boil the milk with turmeric powder for a few minutes to cut the sharpness, let it cool, and then make the smoothie.  During the summer, when the mangoes are in season, you can substitute mangoes for the bananas and make a mango turmeric smoothie. In fact, you can substitute bananas with any one of your favorite fruits. Regular consumption of this turmeric smoothie may help purify your blood and keep your digestion in peak order

Turmeric for Joint Problems
Proven and tested. We take the freedom of movement for granted until it becomes limited. The cause of this for many people comes in the form of arthritis or the inflammation of one or more of your joints. There are two main kinds, osteo and rheumatoid, both of which affect the joint in different ways. Osteoarthritis is when the cartilage between bones wears down, until bone grates on bone. Rheumatoid is little less straightforward, being caused by an autoimmune disorder that causes inflammation of the synovial membrane (a soft tissue that protects joints in the body) and that can lead to bone loss. Whichever you experience, there are natural remedies for arthritis to manage the pain and ease the symptoms.

… and even more benefits!

Curcumin may protect aginst certain liver conditions
A Mexican study showed that curcumin helps prevent acute liver damage
Weight Loss
Curcumin assists with weight loss and reduce the incidence of obesity-related diseases. The inflammation associated with obesity is due in part to the presence of immune cells called macrophages in fat tissues throughout the body. These cells produce cytokines that can cause inflammation in organs such as the heart, and islets of the pancreas, while also increasing insulin resistance in muscle and liver
Other benefits
Researchers found that curcumin treatment was safe for rheumatoid arthritis.  Treating sprains and inflammation with a pinch of turmeric powder, lime and salt is an age-old home remedy practised throughout India.  Turmeric powder is an effective home remedy for chronic cough, cold and throat irritations
Alzheimer’s is a neuro-degenerative condition characterized by progressive cognitive deterioration together with declining activities of daily living and behaviour changes. Curcumin may well help to improve overall memory in Alzheimer patients

1 review for Turmeric / Piperine Powder

  1. Yvonne
    Rated 5 out of 5

    Yvonne

I have personally observed a 17 year old dog transform from being a sluggish overweight fellow who battled to balance on his back legs to a slim/trim and active boy in a matter of a few months. His diet was changed from standard bought dog food to a cooked vegetarian diet high in vegetables and grains – always with added turmeric. Beautiful to see!
