Turmeric juice or tea is said to provide a natural energy boost, help with post-workout recovery and for inflammation. Turmeric drinks are bio-available and absorb quicker in the body than a capsule or food.
Here are a couple of ideas:
1. Turmeric Tea recipe for 2 cups
3 heaped t spoons turmeric powder; 1 – 2 teaspoons fresh grated ginger;
juice and a little zest of 1 small orange;
honey or agave and lemon slices when serving the tea
Add the turmeric, ginger and orange zest to a teapot. Pour in boiling water and allow to infuse for around 5 mins. Strain, add a slice of lemon and sweeten if desired.
Turmeric Bedtime Warmer
Use the above recipe but substitute almond or coconut milk and stir gently for a few minutes on the stove. It’s a delicious healthy bedtime drink especially in winter.
2. Turmeric Smoothie with a flavor-enhancer
Avoid the sharp flavour when adding turmeric powder to smoothies. Some people don’t mind the flavor, but if it is keeping you from making turmeric smoothies, the best solution is to boil the milk with turmeric powder for a few minutes to cut the sharpness, let it cool, and then make the smoothie. During the summer, when mangoes are in season, you can substitute mangoes for the bananas and make a mango turmeric smoothie. In fact, you can substitute bananas with any one of your favorite fruits. Regular consumption of this turmeric smoothie may help purify your blood and keep your digestion in peak order.
Turmeric Smoothie
1 cup of whole milk, coconut or almond milk : 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder : 1 ripe banana (or favorite fruit) : 6 almonds : Honey, to taste : 1/4 teaspoon vanilla : 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder (optional). Soak almonds in water for a few hours beforehand and remove skins.
Boil the milk along with turmeric powder for a few minutes and let it cool. You can also use the turmeric powder directly In a blender, first blend the blanched almonds along with little bit of the cooled milk until you get a smooth paste. Add in the ripe banana, honey, cinnamon powder, the rest of the milk, and vanilla. Blend until you get a smooth mixture. Enjoy!

Golden Paste for Dogs:
1/2 cup turmeric powder with piperine, 1 cup water : 70 ml cold pressed olive or coconut oil (helps with absorption in the body). Add turmeric to water in a pan. Heat gently, stirring until a thick paste is achieved (6-10 minutes). If too thick, add more water. At the end add oil.
Stir to ensure all ingredients are mixed properly. Cool. Can be refrigerated for up to 2 weeks
